Adam Armbruster Participates in Veterans Day Observance

2014 Nov 10

300 Army and Navy Academy Cadets, including Adam Armbruster of Newport Beach, and the Rotary Club of Carlsbad are joining forces to celebrate Veterans Day November 11 in a late-morning ceremony and military review on the Academy's Maffucci Field.

The 11 a.m. community event is sponsored jointly by the Academy and local Rotary Club and is open to the public free of charge. Now in its sixth year, it has become one of the top events honoring the armed forces in all of San Diego County and is Carlsbad's only official Veterans Day observance.

Retired Army Gen. William Crouch, former Vice Army Chief of Staff and a 1959 Academy graduate, will join a group of other veterans from each of the five military services to review the military pass in review parade. The retired four-star general will present a memorial wreath and make some brief remarks after which there will be a flyover by the Red Eagles Formation Team, a group of pilots flying vintage war planes. Refreshments for those attending will be provided by Sunwest Bank following the ceremony.

"We're looking forward to welcoming the Carlsbad community to the sixth annual Veterans Day Military Review and Remembrance Ceremony. The event's growth has been impressive, thanks in large part to our partnership with the Rotary Club of Carlsbad." said MG Art Bartell, President of Army and Navy Academy "Our Cadets are working hard to prepare for the event to ensure it will be better than ever. Our San Diego Veterans deserve no less."
