Charles McBride of Alameda Receives the 2017 Cross Country UT San Diego All Academic Award from the Army and Navy Academy

Army and Navy Academy is proud to announce the recipients of the Fall 2017 athletic awards for Cross Country!

Charles McBride of Alameda (94501) received the UT San Diego All Academic Award. The Union Tribune All Academic Award is awarded to all junior and senior varsity athletes with a cumulative, weighted GPA of 3.00 and higher.

Charles McBride is from the Class of 2019 at the Army and Navy Academy.

The first Cross Country meet of the 2017 season started off in grand fashion with the ANA cross country team placing first at the 4th annual HTHNC Small Schools Invitational in San Marcos, CA. ANA also participated in the Coach Downey XC Classic and completed its best finish ever as a team in this particular meet, placing 7th out of the 20 schools that ran. The trend of underclassman success held steady throughout this cross country season, culminating with 7 ANA runners scheduled to participate in the 2017 San Diego Section CIF Cross Country Championships (6 are underclassmen). This makes for a bright future for ANA cross country!
