Ian Kennedy to Perform on USS Midway

Army and Navy Academy is proud to announce that the Atkinson Warrior Band will be performing on the USS Midway on Sunday, April 13, 2014. This is the Band's second performance on the Midway.

The USS Midway is one of America's longest serving aircraft carriers. Now out of service, the historic ship is docked in San Diego, CA, where it is preserved and also serves as a museum allowing visitors to experience life aboard a Naval ship, view exhibits including a collection of restored aircraft, and honor veterans who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The Atkinson Warrior Band has been an integral part of the history and tradition of the Army and Navy Academy for over 100 years, and the Band is honored to perform aboard the USS Midway. The musicians, including Ian Kennedy of Huntington Beach, have been working diligently to prepare for this, one of their final performances of the year. The concert will begin at 1:00pm, and all are welcome to attend.

"It is a great opportunity for our cadets to perform for the community and the tourists in the area while being able to visit an important historical site," says Richard Nunley, Bandmaster.
