Juan Canahuate Martinez Volunteers at Special Olympics Basketball Clinic

For the third consecutive year, Army and Navy Academy hosted a Special Olympics basketball clinic. This year's clinic was held on April 27, 2014, and was the most successful yet.

Army-Navy Basketball players and other Cadet-volunteers led the clinic, coaching Special Olympics players in group training sessions. After training, the Cadets scrimmaged with the athletes. The Cadets, including Juan Canahuate Martinez of Santiago, worked with several groups of athletes, including the Women's Basketball Team that will be traveling to New Jersey for the Special Olympics this June.

In addition to Cadet volunteers, community members and other Cadets attended the clinic to show their support and cheer on the athletes.

This was a wonderful opportunity for the Cadets to serve the community, and the Academy is looking forward to continuing its partnership with the Special Olympics.
