Licheng Zhou Volunteers at Oceanside Ironman

Southern California is known for its active lifestyle, and Licheng Zhou got a taste of the action when he volunteered at the Oceanside Ironman on March 28, 2015.

Prior to the race, Zhou, along with other students from Army and Navy Academy, helped provide information to athletes on where they were to set up their gear, get their numbers painted, and more. Once the race started, he was involved in the transition area, holding signs to let the swimmers know when to start. He also provided direction to athletes, helping them find their bikes after they completed the swim. When the race was over, he helped the athletes pick up their gear.

This was a fun community event, and Zhou's service was very appreciated. He will be receiving a certificate of recognition in the coming weeks from the Ironman Committee.
