Noah Brown Volunteers with the Corazon de Vida Foundation

2015 Jan 26

Cadet Noah Brown traveled by motor coach from San Diego (9 hours) with the Corazon de Vida Foundation to La Hacienda De La Inmaculada, an orphanage in the Matamoras region of Tijuana. The Corazon de Vida Foundation supports 13 orphanages in Baja California and provides monthly service trips from Los Angeles and San Diego. They are a featured charity of the 2015 Los Angeles Marathon.

There are 70 residents at the facility - 62 children and eight women. Women who have no place to go - no home or resources - bring their children to the Hacienda to find shelter. The women then care for the children in exchange for room and board.

Along with the group, Cadet Brown delivered food, personal supplies, musical instruments, and clothing to the residents. He brought 101 pairs of new underwear for the children. He provided guidance and one-on-one assistance to the kids during a scheduled arts and crafts activity. After lunch, he finished off the day with a game of soccer with some of the boys. It was an unforgettable experience.
