Oscar Lama Earns the AVMETS Award

Oscar Lama of Newport Beach was presented with the AVMETS Award on Sunday, May 3, during a Military Review and Awards Ceremony at Army and Navy Academy. It was the culminating event of the school's annual Alumni Weekend.

The AVMETS Award is a significant achievement. It is presented annually to a senior Cadet who exemplifies American citizenship principles, demonstrates dependability, cooperation, loyalty, patriotism and service to both his school and the community.

"Congratulations on this major accomplishment," said COL Kevin Batule, USA (Ret), and Commandant of Cadets at Army and Navy Academy. "You should be very proud of your outstanding performance of duty."
